Why analysis comes before ideation
At Tenet, concept design does not start with drawing, it starts when financial, legal, and spatial constraints are clear enough for ideas to matter.
Ideation comes after constraints, not before.
Many clients arrive with a vision. That is a good start, but vision without constraints is a sketch without paper.
Our sequence is not aesthetic dogma. It is operational logic: financial and legal assessment, spatial plot analysis, then ideation within a frame already documented.
Plot analysis at Tenet includes more than "can we build". It includes: cadastral and built status, access conditions, service connections, typical local procedures, and risk levels that affect budget and timeline.
When ideation starts before that, the project often must step back, with cost and lost trust. When ideation starts after, every sketch has a reference point. The client knows what is fixed and what is open.
That is why we publish: not to sell analysis in every text, but to signal how the studio works. Process transparency is part of architectural accountability.
Behind the practice does not mean behind the construction site. It means showing the sequence of decisions, without performative "making of".
